IT Network Engineer Jobs Market April 2023
In the past 12 months, we have seen Network Engineers become one of the most in-demand skill sets in Dublin and across Ireland. There has been a growing demand for this profile across all industries seeking experienced and senior Network Engineers.
The skill set that is most sought after has remained largely the same with strong fundamentals across networking required, including a deep understanding of switches, routers, firewalls, troubleshooting, and IP addresses.
In addition to this, many organisations seek some level of accreditation for network engineers, with the most common being, CCNA and CCNP remaining as the preferred qualifications.
There is a rise in the demand for Network Engineers with an automation skillset, in particular, larger organisations within FinTech and banking sectors paired with hands-on cloud networking experience.
AWS and Azure remain the two dominant cloud requirements within this space and with this increased demand we are seeing more candidates upskill in this area providing a broader and more diverse talent pool of Network Engineers than ever before.
Network Engineers are also upskilling in more technical areas, developing deep skillsets with automation scripting with the favoured tools of Python, Powershell, Bash, and some Ansible.
