Why did you get into recruitment?

To be frank, I knew the type of lifestyle I wanted and I had friends in the industry who were able to support that type of lifestyle through agency recruitment. When you see your friend buy an apartment at 23 your interest certainly gets aroused. So first and foremost, the rewards and their potential to transform standard of life so quickly and dramatically encouraged the change.

What do you enjoy most about the role and working in Infrastructure and DevOps?

It absolutely has to be the autonomy to run your own desk without micro-management but with an epic support system that’s there when you need it. If you’ve experienced this you know how important it is and if you haven’t you know how frustrating it can be without it.

What is your favourite quote that you live by and why?

When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on.

When it feels like everything’s going wrong, don’t give up. Giving up never made anything right. It’s only when you hang on and keep on fighting for what you want that you’ll get there.

What tips would you give for someone considering a career in agency recruitment?

Have an honest conversation with yourself about your moxy. You’ll need lots of this.

What has been your most memorable moment with Archer Recruitment so far?

I have been skiing with Archer 3 times but that first time was out of this world. It was a whole new experience in new surroundings practising a completely foreign activity to me, with an awesome group of people. It was both a fun holiday and learning experience which completely pushed me out of my comfort zone.
