What do you find the most rewarding and challenging things about recruitment?
It is rewarding – It feels pretty good when you start something difficult but get it over the line and deliver for your client. The client is in need, they’re struggling with a role, and you come in and help them out. The recruitment process can be challenging, where I’m speaking with loads of people, advertising my job postings, and building a network of candidates.
Challenging – The pace and speed at which you have to work at if you want to get good at the game. The team is very friendly and supportive but a career as a recruitment consultant is competitive as there is competition from other recruitment agencies and talent acquisition teams for the best candidates.
What do you think makes Archer different from other organisations?
The training, I have been given every tool available to succeed and thrive in recruitment. I know from chatting with my friends that are recruiters, the training here is awesome.
What skills have you developed through your journey with Archer?
Business Development, Account Management, understanding people and negotiation. I’ve learned a lot about people as job applicants and candidates, client companies and how a recruitment agency functions.
But most importantly, the skill of ignoring a good friend and colleague Michael Lewis when he starts talking about football and Manchester United.
What are you looking forward to in the future (work-related)?
Improving at Business development and trying to get some good results in that space. I’m also looking forward to getting better at the job and just get some momentum in the recruitment world.
How do you find balance in your life?
Everything in moderation, including moderation.
With Lockdown it’s hard to tell how it’s going, to be honest. I was employed during COVID.
What do you do to relax?
Hiking, socialising with friends, post some pics on social media and wearing face masks.
