Procurement Project Specialist – (€280/Daily)
- Long Term Day Rate Contract with high likelihood of extension
- Hybrid working – 2-days on-site
- Join a major €30M infrastructure project with a national footprint
- Help establish the supply chain that will bring the project to life
Ireland is investing in the infrastructure needed to keep the country connected for years to come.
A major new fibre network is being built to link some of Ireland’s biggest cities and regions, bringing together a combination of existing infrastructure, new works and specialist suppliers to create one resilient national network.
For a project like this, procurement isn’t happening in the background — it is helping make the project possible.
Before the work can begin, the right suppliers need to be found, the right commercial terms agreed and the right services secured. That means there is a real opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to shape how the supply chain is built from the start.
You’ll join at exactly that point.
You’ll work alongside the teams planning and delivering the project to understand what is needed, take it to market, find the right suppliers and negotiate the agreements that will support delivery.
You’ll see your work move from a sourcing requirement, to a supplier, to a contract — and ultimately into a major piece of infrastructure being delivered across Ireland.
Why You’ll Love This Role
- Help Build National Infrastructure: Your supplier and commercial decisions will contribute directly to a new fibre network connecting major cities and regions across Ireland.
- Shape the Supply Chain: Identify potential suppliers, assess the market and help decide which companies the project will work with.
- Own the Tender Process: Take sourcing requirements from the initial brief through tender, evaluation, negotiation and supplier appointment.
- Work Across Different Requirements: Source for infrastructure, civils, fibre deployment and specialist services as different parts of the project move forward.
- Work Directly with the Delivery Teams: Partner with Project Managers, Engineering and Commercial teams to understand requirements and make sure suppliers are ready when needed.
What You’ll Do
- Understand What’s Needed: Work with project teams to turn upcoming requirements into clear sourcing plans.
- Find the Right Suppliers: Research the market, identify potential suppliers and take requirements out to tender.
- Run the Tender: Manage RFQs and RFPs, evaluate responses and support supplier selection.
- Negotiate the Deal: Compare pricing, negotiate terms and put the right commercial arrangements in place.
- Build Supplier Relationships: Develop strong relationships with the suppliers and subcontractors supporting the project.
- Keep Ahead of Requirements: Work closely with the project teams so suppliers and agreements are ready when each stage of the project needs them.
What You’ll Have
- Procurement Experience: Strong experience at Procurement Specialist, Senior Procurement Specialist, Procurement Manager or similar level. Your current or most recent role should be procurement-focused.
- Tendering & Negotiation: Experience managing sourcing exercises from initial requirement through tender, evaluation, negotiation and award.
- Project & Stakeholder Experience: Comfortable working with suppliers, project teams and senior stakeholders where requirements and priorities can change.
- Relevant Sector Experience: Infrastructure, utilities, construction, engineering or telecommunications would be beneficial. CIPS would be an advantage, but strong procurement experience is the priority.
