Here at Archer Recruitment, we have reopened our doors and a small portion of us have returned to the office. Having returned to the office, I’ve found it’s a good time to reflect on the difference between working in the office and working from home.

Undoubtedly, there have been many challenges with working from home. From issues with WiFi and technology to finding a quiet place to work. From mobile coverage and communication to be able to switch on or off, as well as missing the buzz of the office. All of these are challenges that many of us have had to adapt to and overcome.

With that being said, I’ve taken the time to think about some of the great things about working from home. I’ve come up with a list of 3 great things about working from home that I think people could incorporate into their new routines in the office.

Choosing Interruption

For me, number one on the list was choosing when or if I was interrupted. It gave me a little bit more headspace as I was able to get on with things that maybe I would have been distracted by previously.

Improved Communication

Number two is the improved communication within our teams. I have found that the quality of interactions between our teams has improved tremendously. It’s been great taking the time to interact and understand what’s going on in their worlds.

Quality Family Time

Last but not least on my list is having more quality time with the family. Being able to sit down and have lunch with them has given us some extra time to interact and engage with each other.

So, since we’re back in the office, we’re looking at how can we bring in some of the good things about working from home into the office and what they might be. I’d be really interested in hearing what other people are finding works well for them outside the office, and working from home and what they’d like to be able to bring back into the office when the time comes.

I’ll be welcoming any thoughts or comments. Thanks.
